How the MPF Locavore Club Works

Now there is a way for MPF customers to save money on packing/handling/delivery charges while enabling them to order more frequently by joining our Locavore Club.

DEFINITION: A locavore is someone who eats food grown or produced locally or within a certain radius. The locavore movement encourages consumers to buy from farmers’ markets or even to produce their own food, with the argument that fresh, local products are more nutritious and taste better. Local grown food is an environmentally friendly means of obtaining food, since supermarkets that import their food use more fossil fuels and non-renewable resources.

HOW IT WORKS: The cost for a one year membership is equal to six packing/handling/delivery charges or $90.00. We also offer a six month trial membership equal to 3 & 2/3rds packing/handling/delivery charges or $55.00.

Members can order an unlimited number of times at half the cost of packing/handling/delivery (currently $7.50 instead of $15.00) throughout the membership period. Customers wishing to order more than once per month will benefit most from these plans. The more often a customer orders, they more they save.

EXAMPLE: Mary orders every week and signs up for the yearly membership at $90. Upon her 12th week ordering, she breaks even and every order after that she saves $7.50. At the end of one year she will have saved $300.00. If the packing/handling delivery charge increases during the membership period, she will save even more!

Additional benefits of membership include a free sample with every order (based on available surplus), plus inflation protection during the membership period (if the packing/handling/delivery charge increases, so does the value of the discount. It will always equal one-half the charge.) This membership applies to anyone living or working at the same address and savings can be combined with volume discounts.

Memberships can be purchased on our website under the "Special Offers" section of the store. Memberships will be processed within 1 business day and the customer will be given a unique coupon code to use at checkout that will last until the membership expires (either 26 or 52 weeks from the day it becomes active).

HOW TO USE THE CODE: Once you have placed $45 (or more) worth of product in the shopping cart and have entered your zipcode and selected your delivery area, you can then put the Locavore Club coupon code into the field below and click the button to apply it. You will then see that half the packing/handling/delivery charge has been deducted, and can finish the checkout process.

EXCLUSIONS: The unique coupon code will apply only to the address it was purchased for and is not transferable. Any misuse of the code will result in cancellation of the order and possible termination of membership. Out of area delivery surcharges are not discounted.

While combining your membership purchase with an order may result in an automatic volume discount, no Locavore discount will occur until your membership becomes active and you have received the code. We cannot give any retroactive discounts, so please purchase your membership first, then place your regular order after receiving the code.
